Join YEG Dancer on May 9, 2026 for Kevin’s first foray into social event organizing! Strictly Sensual is a new concept where we bring to life our mission of connecting different dance communities in Edmonton, in one of Edmonton’s most accessible two-room venues.

Start off the night at 8 pm with a beginner-friendly class in either Bachata or West Coast Swing, perfect for anyone joining us for the first time or looking to try something new. After that, stay and social dance the night away until 1:30 am, with music by DJ Takokat (Kevin)! See schedule below for details.

Bachata instructor: Irina Feldesh is back from training in New York and is ready to bring some spice to your Bachata foundations!

West Coast Swing instructor: Kenneth Valentine is one of West Coast Swing Edmonton’s favourite instructors and will be joining us to teach and dance!

9:00 pm     Social dancing starts, music ratio 2 Salsa : 3 Bachata*

10:30 pm   Music ratio changes to 1 Salsa : 3 Bachata*

12:01 am   Music ratio changes to 100% Bachata*

1:30 am     Social ends

• Strictly Sensual is community-run and we need volunteers to help us pull this off. If you’d like to offer a hand in return for discounted or free entry, please see our Volunteer Signup Form.
• Strictly Sensual follows our longstanding safety policy, which all participants must adhere to. By attending, you agree to be bound by this policy and that offenders will be banned from YEG Dancer events. Up until now, we have been using Sugar Swing’s safety policy, and so ours aligns with theirs. We are working on finalizing our website and the YEG Dancer safety policy will be available there, but for now please see the Sugar Swing Ballroom Code of Conduct.
